Sunday at home

Hi Everyone,

Well here I sit on the couch, feet up, heating pad on. My MRI results where not good, I have 3 ruptured discs and arthritis in my back. My newest problems include numbness and loss of strength in my left leg and arm, lots of tingles and pain. I am on so many medications I am going to need one of those old people pill organizers. I have been out of work for a week and after talking to my boss today he advised me to stay home. My regular doc said I have to see a back specialist and I have an appointment next thursday but I will be calling to see if I can get in sooner as my condition is not improving. I hate just sitting here like a lump on a log I want to get my fall decorations out but that will have to wait, I may just have spring decorations outside until Christmas. I am having my mother's 60th birthday party next Saturday, I can not cancel it but it will just be 4 relatives, Dave, my neighbor so Dave will have to do the cooking and we can just chill out. I want to change my blog back ground to Halloweenie stuff as anyone who knows me it is my favorite holiday. My foggy head will try but do not be surprised if it comes out funny looking. I am still thankful my Dave is well and here with me, my kitty keeps me amused even though I am her favorite mouse to hunt. I think I have been on blogger about a year now and I was on AOL journals for 3 years....wow 4 years of blogging. I like to go back and see my posts it is like a diary. An unexpected vacation…not the good kind

Hi Everyone,
I must remember that all my readers/buddies are not on facebook so I should do a post at least once a week! Well I over did it this weekend and now I have hurt my back again and have to be out of work all week. It would be fine except I am in pain and have to have an MRI tonight as my Doc thinks I may have ruptured ANOTHER disc. I have had back problems since my 20's from a car accident then at 26 I blew out 2 discs by sneezing and could not walk for 6 months. I was a fool this weekend and was on my feet decorating, cleaning, rearranging closets in such, lugging boxes up to the attic and now I am paying for it. Well at least I got things done, but I am upset because I can not get my fall decorations out to decorate outside per doctors orders....do not do anything....blah! I almost have my Tabby room back to myself just a few boxes left of Dave's stuff. I also channeled my inner Martha Stewart and did some more stuff in the bathroom. I am having family over for my Mom's 60th birthday party Oct. 3rd and want the house to look good. I guess I will not be able to paint the bathroom by then but oh well. Here are some pictures. Oh before I post them I want to thank everyone on the nice comments regarding Dave, I show them to him and he likes them. He is doing well and besides the horrible back pain I am happy:)

 

 

 

I filled this cool boat looking thing with lots of pretty shells and stuck it on the back of the toilet bowl

 

I made the mirror in the bathroom more nautical, I got the large Conch shell in the keys along with the shells on the right, those are real star fish I bought on a day trip to cape cod

I hung up the sand dollar on a ribbon

 

The picture reminded me of coco plum beach in Marathon Key we visited

I made this sea shell wreath for the bathroom door

 

I got a new bag from a book club and of course Delilah had to crawl into it

As you can see my Tabby room is almost back together just a few things to put away, like those giant pictures in front of the window still have to be hung up.

I hung some new bird pictures I got at the dollar store

Just more stuff in my Tabby room, it is basically a 3rd room that has exercise equipment and just stuff I do not know where else to put

Ta Da finally hung a picture up in the living room after being here a year, the reason we waited so long is we are going to paint these walls a sand color but that will have to wait for now

I rearranged some appliances, I know the color of the counter is gross but I try to make the best of it until it can be replaced

My first Halloween decoration is out

Now this may look like a cluttered closet but it is all organized and it is the kitchen closet and it really is all organized.  I took everything out and put it all back in…

I got this cool corduroy chair 50% off, I know it does not really belong in the bedroom but I like to have something to sit on when I put my socks on

See the second shelf that was filled with clutter so I cleaned that too.

A plethora of Pictures

Hi Gang,

I am really trying to be better and blog more often but we have been doing so many household stuff I am to lazy to do it.  I really want to share with you what we did so I am getting this post while I am at work (shhh don’t tell, or I will get fired and then be blogging every day and you will all get sick of me).

 

We got the Man Room set up at least the basics, new Futon for the imaginary guests Dave seems to think we are going to have sleeping over our house.  His new desk and Chair and printer cart.  He has been working diligently a little day by day to go through the mess of boxes that are cluttering up my Tabby room now.  Now we moved into this place a year ago and we kept the door close of the man room/office with boxes of stuff that had not been gone through and put away yet.  Have a look

  yes I know it is a mess and I am almost embarrassed to post it.

Getting ready to paint, see all the holes on the wall Dave had to fill, he did all the edging work and I did all the walls as he still gets very sore an tired easily from being sick.

Did I tell you I got a great deal I got this comforter for 80 then 4 days later it was marked down to 40 so I got $40 back (sorry this has nothing to do with the man room)

Time to put the new furniture together and of course the monster kitty has to check it out

Happy man on his new man couch!

He started really man-ing it up with his Motorcycle, nascar and guitar stuff…lol .  There will be pictures, a house plant/tree and a new bookshelf going in here too.

Since I have been so lazy and not getting to my blogging like I would like too you will have to see more pictures…ho hum.  It was a cold weekend (I love it) so we decided to make Home made lasagna on Saturday and then cook Sheppard's pie on Sunday.  Here are the pictures.  I love having Davey well because he is the greatest cook.  Now I wish I could of shared some of this food with you all because we have tons and tons of left overs.  Here is the Lasagna, got a great recipe off the net, it is sausage and Hamburg cheesy lasagna From start to finish.

   

 

Now after I just inserted all these pictures in one by one I just found out I could of done them all as an album…grrrr (I am using windows live writer and it is a new option).  So the next set are Sunday and Sheppard's pie and a few odd and end pictures:

As far as the news lately I am sorely going to miss Patrick Swayze he was one of my biggest teen Heart throbs.  I hope they do a movie marathon of all his movies as I loved them all and I will be tuned in.  It sure is great Fall is almost here as the TV programs are starting up again.  Just started watching The Vampire Diaries and it is pretty good. I am so into vampires I am re-reading the twilight series and about the start the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire novels (True Blood series is based on these books).   Tonight Supernatural is on and another great show is The Lords of Anarchy that started up again.

This weekend my mission is to take down my summer decorations outside and get my fall stuff out; make my shell wreath for the bathroom, Change my blog to my fall theme,  help Dave organize and get all his clutter put away.   Whoa reading this makes me tired, I need to rest a bit so I will take it slow :)  Also I am so glad it is football season again…Woo hoo!  Everyone have a great weekend.  Until my next post…..
