54 Years ago and just a little update.
Well we have almost made it to the weekend thankfully. I am so tired after this week I want to be a lazy bum this weekend but I do not see that in my future as I have more projects I want to get done. Well the Man room is painted and the furniture was put together last night (futon, desk, printer stand, Leather chair-all new) so that took about 3 1/2 hours. It looks really nice, the next part will be adding all the stuff that will belong in that room like Dave's computers, books, pictures stuff like that. I will share pictures.
I got this good email and I wanted to share it....boy times have changed!
Comments made in the year 1955!
That's only 54 years ago!
'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $10.00.
'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $1, 000.00 will only buy a used one.
'If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous..
'Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter.
'If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.
'When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.
'I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems every new movie has either HELL or DAMN in it.
'I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas .
'Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President..
'I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They are even making electric typewriters now..
'It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet.
'It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.
'I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business.
'Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes.. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government.
'The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.
'There is no sense going on short trips anymore for a weekend, it costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel.
'No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.'
'If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a hair cut, forget it.'
Know any friends who would get a kick out of these, pass this on! Be sure and send it to your kids and grand kids, too!
We WISH we still had THESE complaints......

Labor day weekend was all about laboring
I hope everyone had a great long weekend. We busted our humps and got things done around the house. I am so sore today it hurts to type. We painted, organized stuff, and just kept busy all weekend. I am just putting in this slide show so you can see a bit of what we did. The never ending project but its a good sense of accomplishment I suppose if you look at it that way. My sore muscles are saying you should of been a lazy bum all weekend. Today is my mom's 60th birthday...Happy Birthday Mom! She does not have a computer so I can tell you I sent her 18 long stem roses they are fall themed colors and her favorite flower so she should like them. We are having her Birthday party at the house in a few weeks with other relatives coming over so I want everything done by then. Now we moved in a year ago and we just started painting, have had the paint for about 11 months.....can you tell I hate painting. Hope everyone has a great day. It feels like Monday but is actually Tuesday so I suppose that is a good thing. Augh I need a weekend just to recover from this weekend :)

So I am officially a bad blogger!
Hi Everyone,
I just realized today that it has been a month since I have done a post……ooops. I just want to let everyone know that it sure has been great having Dave home and he is doing well. He is still out of work per doctors orders but it is so wonderful to have my life back to normal even if sometimes it is a little boring
I take it over the past few months! I know a few of my blogger buddies are on Face book now which is great since I am addicted to it, anyone who is on Face Book and would like to be my friend just send me a message and I will add you. Again I can not thank you all for your kinds words and emails to me regarding Dave’s health and also just checking to see how I was doing……Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I now have to try to remember what we have done over the last month good Lord I sometimes can not remember what I did last week. Thankfully since I am a picture freak I can refresh my memory and share some pictures. The main things that we did was go on a fun work cruise to Province town and then a few days of camping. Camping turned out to be quite a bit of work and Dave’s poor body paid for it even though I tried to do most of what I could. Not too mention I am sheepishly admitting to myself that Yes I have hit middle age and I get those annoying aches and pains that I never had before.
First look at the huge giant picture of the Sunflower on the top of my blog that is my sunflower I planted and its a monster over 6 feet tall. I named him Seymour because he looks like that monster Fly trap plant in that old movie little shop of horrors.
Here are some ….. well okay I am lying a lot of pictures from the cruise to Province town:
Leaving Boston Harbor
The Company that puts on the Cruise Rents this whole boat it is always packed, we have to be on it early (7:15 a.m.) so everyone starts out tired.
The Girls we meet up with every year, Michelle and Leslie they are great fun!
A cool row/sail boat going by
Every one is starting to liven up as it gets warmer and we get closer, they are already dancing on the top deck
Me & Bob (a friend from one of the co’s we work with)
We are finally pulling into P-town
A pilgrim greeted us when we got off the boat
Crazy Camo truck, Dave was drooling over this
funny little row boat
Cute little door stopper in one of the shops
All of us at lunch, we went to the same place as last year The Squealing Pig….LOL Great food!
The menu
Just us girls (Michelle, me, Leslie, Reggie)
Posing with the stuffed bear
The next set of pictures will be just the crazy fun stuff and people in Provincetown
(This was a real lady dressed up as a statue)
One of our favorite shops Marine Specialties
They sure are colorful in P-Town
A local artist
Walking back to the ship, oh by the way they told us at least 50 times not to miss the boat or they would leave your butt there and sure enough 2 girls missed the boat. Just so you have an idea if you are not from Mass Ptown is on the very tip of Cape Cod and we sailed from Boston so it costs either $400 for a cab ride back or $60 to take the boat shuttle……..they should of listened.
Some nice bikes
local photo’s for sale
Great museum did not go in this year but did 2 years ago
Cutest deliver car ever!
The boat
Geesh I was going to try to do all the pictures from this past month but I am sure you are sick of looking at my pictures for now. I promise I will do part 2 and 3 for pictures from the past month as it is a long weekend. I hope everyone has a Fun and SAFE Labor day!

A real Summer weekend at last!
This past weekend has been the best weekend I have had in a long time. It is great having Dave home and let me tell you we kept busy! I took a pictures so I could do a little picture story:)
This is Dave’s first day home and look a man with his remote he is in heaven!
Here are his 13 prescriptions!
Delilah is like hey I know this guy, I think it’s my long lost Daddy!
There is no place like home now stop taking pictures of me!
We interrupt this Dave picture-thon to give you a few photo’s of my flowers this is one of my gladiola’s the head popped off!
Here is my one measly tomato, because of all the rain the plant snapped in half.
10 Sparrows on the bird feeder Saturday morning.
Ok back to Dave hee hee. Well really we did a lot this weekend he has to build his endurance up walking and stuff so on Saturday we went to Walmart in search of a charcoal grill and a few other things well lots of stuff actually(healthy food, snacks drinks etc). We have a gas one but food taste’s better on charcoal I think. So Walmart was a mad house of course the grills there where crap but we did get new curtains and rods for the front windows with a fancy expensive Rod set. But of course when we got home some jerk had opened the box and stolen the middle rod and all the hardware so now we have to bring it back. We then drove to Lowe’s in search of this portable grill we wanted and they wanted too much but I did get 2 cute statues marked way down shown below.
Green garden gnome originally $20 I got it for $7. I am thinking of pulling out my craft paints and painting him to look like the velocity Gnome we will see. The next deal is the wooden birdie I got for only $3 marked down from $9
We tried CVS to see if they had the grill, nope so I said what the heck let me just check Stop and Shop and Low and behold the had the Webber grill we wanted and it was 33 percent off so it was only $19! And it was the only one left in the store. Here is Dave putting it together……oh and by the way I forgot to buy charcoal so we had to go back to cvs for that.
Delilah thought she got a present too!
Why do cats love to sit in bags??
Now for our yummy healthy dinner we had grilled skinless chicken breasts, with corn on the cob and Texas toast.
Dave seasoning the chicken
Me faking I am cooking
Our yummy dinner!
We also watched 2 stinkers of movies Friday and Saturday and I can not remember the names but they just came out….DO NOT GET THEM, the first one had Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas as Jewel/art thieves and the next one had Ryan Phillipe being held hostage in Morroco they where crap. I did buy the the first season of The Tudors though so that kind of made up for it we watched a few episodes.
Poor Dave was dying to watch his nascar on Sunday but it got rained out. We where both so sore on Sunday from all the walking especially Dave. He has to get that endurance and strength back slowly. We hung out on the couch Sunday and Delilah curled up in between us it was so nice. Dave wanted me to tell everyone he thanks you for all your prayers I may have already said this but we both really mean it!
Oh just a few more Random shots:
Mushrooms growing in my flowers from all the rain!
Pretty spoiled. green eyed kitty!
That’s it folks!
