I have not posted for almost Five years! So What is it like living in Florida you ask?

Since I moved to Florida it seems I forgot about this poor little blog that I loved so much.  With the popularity of other social media sites such as FB, Pinterest, Tumblr etc it seems irrelevant for sharing info..BUT I was just reading some of my old posts and it brought back great memories!  I even looked at my original Jland journal (if your know what this is then you where a blogger old school style-wink wink).  Some of my older posts go back past 2008, now I feel old!

Still living in FL but let me tell you something it is not as great as I thought it would be as it is one thing to be on vacation and another thing having to work everyday in a tropical local.  For one thing I now despise the snowbirds/Canadian tourists(AKA every jerk off who comes down in the winter and screws up traffic) not to mention are rude as hell. Sorry venting here if you ever drove during rush hour and you have all the old geezer going to the grocery store and the coffee shops every day mind you at 8:00 in the morning and driving 20 miles under the speed limit you would understand.  They need to make it a rule they have to stay off the roads between 7-10 am and then from 4-6pm or they will be shot, but OMG they would miss there early bird specials....grrrrrr!

Another thing just so you know if you ever think about living here the price of insurance is RIDICULOUS. Seriously you think it is great because you do not have to pay state taxes well you better save those pennies as it is going to cost you an obscene amount of money just for car insurance.  Example back in MA I paid $64 a month for TWO cars full coverage one new and one old, down here I pay $170 a month for one 1990 Corvette full coverage and NO POINTS on my driving record, it is insane.  Not to mention the cost of renters/condo/house insurance you may as well take out a loan to be able to afford that.

DO NOT GET SICK DOWN HERE, I REPEAT DO NOT THE HEALTH CARE DOCTORS ARE HORRENDOUS!  I am not even go get into the horror shows I have gone through down here trying to find a good doctor who did not misdiagnose you.  YOU WILL DIE!

Same thing for Crime it is like a free for all for fuck ups down here, watch yourself always have situational awareness the news stories EVERY NIGHT are about a whole years worth of craziness, murder, mugging, accidents and rape back in MA.  That is why pretty much every episode of cops is filmed down here.

Another gripe the food down here SUCKS, I have not had good Chinese Food, Pizza, Subs for almost five years.  Sorry I am not rich and can't afford the upper class fine dining establishments as I am sure the steaks are nice.  The price of groceries is NOT cheap down here so if you think oh it's the south it will be much cheaper think again bucko, I used to have steak every week now it is more like 1-2 times a month.  They get $18 for 3 lousy small steaks, where I used to get nice thick huge London broils for an avg of $6-8 back home.

Alright it is really not all bad it is pretty and I still love the palm tree's and seeing all the different exotic wild life, At least the ones that don't want to eat you like alligators, snakes, sharks, the locals etc. There is plenty to do if you have the cash.  Or you can always go to the beach but I will never swim in the ocean here again after coming out of the water then seeing 2 HUGE Sharks in the surf at Jensen Beach in only knee deep water. No thank you I am not going to be shark fodder.

I do love the winters I cannot complain but pretty much from April-November is like living in Hades (heat wise well it is actually the humidity that actually gets ya!)  We have lucked out as there have not been any hurricanes but we all know that can't last forever.  It is the best day of the week Saturday and I am going to the pool it is going to be around 86 degrees; sounds like tan weather to me!

I am going to try to be better and post more, Have a great weekend!

It gets better with time Tabby - You learn to spot the seniors a mile away and make early lane changes to avoid them. same with traffic. You learn th3 various routes and which ones are better....
