Has it really been almost 2 months since my last post!?

Hi Peeps!

Wow I really have been a major slacker when it comes to my blog. Yesterday I finally changed my blog layout from HALLOWEEN!

I have been good, wonderful, great if any body is wondering. The holidays have come and gone now we just have to deal with the crappy never ending part of winter that seems to last for a century. I do not know about you but I am ready to sit out on my deck and enjoy a nice warm spring day already. I have a lot of friends in Florida you all know who you are (I hope) and I know this winter has been cold for you too. I was bummed because we did not go on our annual Florida vacation but the week we would of went would of been that cold, cold week and I would of just been pissed I spent thousands of dollars to be cold so in a way it is a good thing.

Not too much is new on the home front we work, and on the weekends we hang out at home as it is too cold to venture out. Dave did work on his bike this weekend in the garage and I did not even ask why he stomped into the house covered from head to toe in oil (tee hee.... shhhhh).

Work has just been work you know long and boring. I have been on a crazy shopping kick lately I may have to seek help soon....I am solely keeping amazon and a few other shopping sites in business. Note I do not go to stores as people bug the crap out of me I do it all online....at work! Lets see since after Christmas I have gotten: 2 more pairs of boots, 2 train cases (see my you tube or face book page for my reviews on those), all kinds of make-up, a nice pair of senshauser (spelling is totally wrong) headphones, jogging pants (for wearing while I lounge on the couch), paw slippers, accesories for my kindle the Ebook reader (I love love love), a jewelry pouch that was 3 sizes smaller than the picture, an over the door organizer for traveling, corel photo shop X2 and the Corel video software too, at CVS I got a $36 wet/dry hair iron for only $19.99!(I know I am forgetting a few this so that is just the stuff I can remember I literally have stuff delivered to my house at least twice a week I am on a first name basis with the UPS and fedex guy. Oh I also got a mini epilator now if you do not know what this is let me tell you it is a little device kind of like a portable shaver that has all these tweezer things on wheels that rips the hair out of your body, it is like medieval torture device, why do I do these things to myself???? I need an intervention!!!!
Here are my Sasquatch boots and leather riding boots I got, The Doo was checking them out too.

Now even though I have been buying this stuff, I always pay my bills first and pay for everything in cash, no charge cards in my house. I also set up an ING savings account where I have $25 deposited from my regular checking it may not be much but in a year it will be $1,300 which will be vacation money....I also plan on making extra deposits too.

Me and the Davemiester have really gotten into the HGTV shows like househunters and the international version, and the first time home buyers episodes. We eat our dinner in front of the tv and watch these shows and Dave loves to yell at the people telling them how stupid they are for picking the wrong house. We always guess which house they will buy and I am 90% right all the time and he is usually wrong....yes this pisses him off.....LOL.

I wanted to start doing videos for blogs and you tube and I am so mad as I have 2 perfectly good tripods for my camera's and wouldn't you know it I put them some where when I was on a cleaning kick and can not find one of them. It drives me crazy when I can't find things as I am anal in the sense I have a place for everything in the house.

I wrote on Facebook last week how I was so upset Friday as we where driving home after work a car in front of us hit a kitty! I saw it fly out from the car and it was like in slow motion it was traumatic for me. We stopped the car and went to look for the kitty but it was gone I hope it was not too badly hurt and went home and got help. That just pisses me off to no end when people let their cats out, especially if you live near a very busy street. I was crying the whole way home and I ran in the house to see Delilah and hug and kiss her. I still can't get the image out of my mind....brrrrr it gives me chills!

Well I guess I have babbled enough to make up for the last two months I hope everyone one is just peachy!

Melancholy kind of day.....and some happy photo's of our Shark Adventure's and more.

panda2

Did you ever have one of those day's where you just can not get into the groove of things, and you felt sad for no logical reason?  Well that is my day today.

I feel exhausted and I do not know why I went to bed at 10:15 p.m. last night and did not get up until 7:35 a.m. this morning.  I was in a deep, deep sleep this morning I had to force my eye's open and I had hit the snooze button twice which is something that I never do.

I wonder if it is because Dave is away  and I am not being woken up by his snoring all night long I am falling into too deep of a sleep if that is possible.  It could be just that I miss him even his annoying snoring. I have been keeping myself busy after work with chore's.

Maybe I need to have a day off tonight but I really want to vacuum the whole house and then scrub the floor's then take the very last of the Christmas decorations down but we will see.

Well something that may cheer me up is sharing some more of my vacation picture's I hope you like them.

We went to Sombrero Beach, but when I saw this sign I was a little nervous

DSC03525

This house was directly across from the beach...not too shabby

DSC03526

The walkway on to the beach, note the beaches in the key's are not huge sandy beaches

DSC03530

A view of the beach

DSC03537

I went into the water twice then right up by the shoreline I saw this!!!  That is right a Man-of-War!

DSC03543

These nasty little buggers will ruin your vacation if stepped on, I then took it upon myself to warn everyone walking by not to step on it.

DSC03546

After leaving the beach since it was not the same if I could not at least get wet with out being stung to death by jellyfish Dave purchased a rod at the local K-mart.  We went to the 7 mile bridge and found an embankment he told me to hold the line for a minute while he got some bait.  Then something started pulling really, really hard on the line....I was freaking out calling Dave, he came just in time to grab the rod.  He fought with what ever it was for almost 30 minutes....until the line snapped.  We found out later that large sharks hang under where we were fishing.  Can you imagine our faces if we pulled jaws out of the water!

DSC03589

Above he was really fighting with the rod it was bending so much!

DSC03597

Dave is like what is this!!!!

The next day we stopped by the Iguana cages and saw some of new lizard friends.

DSCF0163

This red one was the only one we could not hold as he was not very friendly, but as seen below is Iggy he is the best just like a baby.  He loves to be held and cuddle's like a scaly kitten.

We stopped here on midmorning for a great breakfast, it is a local place and the food was good and the decorations very cool.  It is called the wooden spoon and the whole place has all different type's of what else....wooden spoon's on the walls.

Here is one wall showing the specials

Now on to our great SHARK fishing expedition, we went to the bridge around 4:30 and a few couples where there.  We talked to them and they had not had any bites all day!  We where there no more than 45 minutes and Dave caught a baby Hammer head shark, which he threw back of course...then low and behold I caught one 5 minutes later and it was a totally different one because mine was smaller.  Everyone could not believe our luck.  I of course let mine go too, I do not touch fish or Sharks for that matter I just like holding the rod.

Grrrr I want to bite you human!

DSCF0243

And now my shark I caught

DSC03716

I had to have some guy hold him while I took the picture because I was afraid he would bite me.

DSCF0255

See the clouds rolling in, we had one tropical storm the whole time we where there, it lasted about 2 hours then it was gone.

Vacation Adventure's part 2...and The Weathermen need to go back to weatherman school!

Happy Monday everybody, if you can call a Monday happy that is.  We had not 1 but 2 snow storms yesterday; one during the day and one at night.....that is right another 12-14 inches of snow!  All the weatherman said oh about 3-4 inches.  What I do not understand where else but in America can you make big bucks at your job and be wrong more than 50% of the time.  Here is a picture of the driveway at work this morning I took with my cell phone:

JAN18STORM

On to Vacation adventure's Part 2:

Let's see I believe I left off right before we got to the Banana Bay Resort we stayed at.  Alright well we stayed on Marathon Key which is the last big Key before Key West (about a 1 hour drive from Key West).  It is also right near the 7 mile bridge which has the old bridge still partially up that a lot of movies have been filmed on.  We we're not sure what to expect because I booked the room through hotels.com which partnered with Jet Blue.  I thought I did pretty good since the room price was suppose to be around $130 a night and I got it for around $80 a night.  So we drive to the resort and where told I room would be ready in 30 minutes so we hit the K-mart right down the street.  There is not much shopping to be done on the Key's In Marathon they have a K-mart, Payless, home Depot, Walgreen's and a Publix  I did not see much else besides smaller locally owned places like dive shops and souvenir shops.

Well we finally got our room key and we're happily surprised with our room and the grounds!  Our room was on the 2nd floor (it only had 2 floors) overlooking the Jacuzzi/pool area.

DSC03408 The entrance to the rooms ( old Florida style)

DSCF0140  Good room in case you ever go

 DSC03403Our Canopy bed

DSCF0134 little sitting area we have a patio too!

DSCF0135  TV was in this( never watched it), there is also a dorm sized Fridge you cannot see

DSCF0137 Bathroom, note their are 2 sinks one in the hall with mirror so I used that area for all my girl stuff

DSCF0136 See my sink

DSCF0139 There was an ironing board, not liked I would ever use it! Spray it with water and shake!

DSCF0142 Our Patio

DSCF0146 view off our patio

DSCF0145 you can see the Jacuzzi and pool from our balcony

Now to explore the pool area which was a HUGE fresh water pool. They had a Tikki bar that served lunch and drinks. There was also free continental breakfast every morning on the side of the pool it was not bad at all they had cereal's, muffins, bagels, toast, English muffins, hard boiled eggs, juice's, coffee and milk.  Free is good!

These pics are Monday at the pool

DSC03494 See how large the pool is it was set up very well, there where 4 different depths I believe

DSC03498

look to the far right in back that is where breakfast was served

DSC03499

The Tikki bar again in back on right

DSC03502

Crazy wild iguana wanted to go swimming

DSC03503

I chased him with my camera and he ran up a tree

One of my favorite pics, the palm tree refection in the pool

DSC03511

just more pics of the surrounding around the pool

DSC03512

More sitting area's around the pool

Now I was very happy with this place because there where almost zero screaming children running around.  I know, I know any of my mom readers may be offended but hey I go on vacation to get away from noise and stress.

The property also share's their grounds with 2 or 3 condo's on the back of the property most of them elderly but not that old.  I met quite a few very nice people at the pool.  Debbie and Judy from PA it was so funny I kept running into them where ever we went, at a beach once, at a restaurant once out watching the sunset, I forgot to get their picture...dang!

The first night since we got checked in around 3:30 we went to the back of the property (that has a full Marina, Bar-B-que area for guests, Boat rentals, and horse shoe pits) to see the sunset.  We where on the wrong side but here are some pics of all I described above.

DSC03409

The road behind the rooms going to the marina

DSC03413

A nice little sitting area

DSC03414

The horse shoe pits, if you look far in the back you can see Tikki huts that have bar-B-que's under them

DSC03415

People also keep there boats here

DSC03417

They have a special bubble thing in the water to keep the manatee's from swimming up to the boats and getting hurt...I really wanted to see one but did not

DSC03419

Not a bad little Yacht huh?

 DSC03423

Some pelicans

DSC03427

This is the little sitting area during the day you can rent boats and ski's here, this turned out one of our favorite places for fishing....it was always empty it was great!

DSC03430

See we could only see a partial sunset from this side

DSC03440

DSC03445

Dave talking to someone, see the little island out in the water, there was a house on it, we never figure out who lived there

OooooAaaaaaa

DSC03476

Next we went next door to a locals pub/diner called The Hurricane and had $5 football meal deal...It was awesome!  I had 1/2 rack of ribs with Real mashed potatoes for only 5 bucks!  How can you bet that!  It was awesome we ate there a lot, every day from 12-4 they have the $5 lunch menu and they have a lot of stuff to choose from.  Thursdays is .25 cents wing nights we went on Thursday and since we made friends with our awesome waitress Mandy she sat us right away...but I am skipping a head this is still only Sunday/Monday.

On our way back from dinner we ran into our now good friend Susan, she keeps 10 Iguana's and many snapping turtles on the grounds of the property that she has rescued.  I learned so much I even held this SNAPPING turtle and none of them bite!  Amazing.  I want to share info about helping saving the turtles and Iguana's but that will be coming.  People are horrible they put them in freezer's in Florida to kill them because they do not like them... Sue saves them!  We became good friends with lots of the Iguanas especially Iggy,Lenny, Moses and Pal...But that story is on the way!
