Very Useful Home tips, cleaning etc

Hi Everyone,

Oh I am happy, happy, happy today! Thanks for all the nice comments, it was just one of those blah days. Well I am bummed out the Bruins lost but it is the weekend in 2 hours!!!! I get my hair done tomorrow I am paying stupid money to have my whole head foil hi-lighted. My hairdresser is good but expensive (that is why I only see her about 4 times a year!), she charges 80 for 1/2 head foil or 100 for a the full...gee I think I will pay the extra 20 and get my money's worth.

All right I found the coolest thing, I have been playing around with google documents, now this will only apply to people with google accounts. Any how you can save all your documents using google documents and have access to the anywhere and be able to share them with people. You can save emails, power point shows, regular word docs, pdf's etc etc......Well any way I went into settings and there was a setting to be able to post docs right to your blog so I set it up and Presto it worked! (see document below).....This is great! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!!

How many of these did YOU
know about?

A sealed envelope - Put
in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a Knife
under the
flap. The envelope can then be resealed.
===========
Use
Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them Neat
and
you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

=========
For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get
warm water and p UT Dawn
dish washing liquid in it. Pour it all
over the steps. They won't Refreeze.
(wish I had known this for
the last 40 years!)
=========
To remove old wax from a glass
candle holder, put it in the freezer for A
few hours. Then take
the candle hold ER out and turn it upside down. The Wax
will fall
out.
=========
Crayon marks on walls? This worked
wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped In baking
soda. Comes off with
little effort (elbow grease that is!).
=========
Permanent
marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt BLUE!)
rubbing
alcohol on paper towel.
=========
Whenever I purchase a box
of S.O.S Pads, I immediately take a pair of
Scissors and cut each
pad into halves. After years of having to throw Away
rusted and
unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would Be much

more economical. Now a box of S.O.S pads last me indefinitely! In
fact, I
have noticed that the scissors get 'sharpened'' this way!

=========
Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a
little hydrogen Peroxide
on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every
drop of blood. Works Every time!
(Now, where to put the20body?)
LOL
=========
Use vertical strokes when washing windows
outside and horizontal For inside
windows. This way you can tell
which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar
will get outside
windows really clean. Don't wash windows On a sunny day.
They
will dry too quickly and will probably streak.
=========
Spray
a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely

Light scent in each room when the light is turned on.
=========

Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes
will smell
freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this
with towels and
linen.
=========
Candles will last a lot
longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 Hours
prior to
burning.
=========
To clean artificial flowers, pour some
salt into a paper bag an d add the
Flowers. Shake vigorously as
the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt And
leave your
artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm!
=========

To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a
drop or two
of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan,
and bring to a boil on
stove top.

=========
Spray your
TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato

based sauces and there won't be any stains.
=========
Wrap
celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will

keep for weeks.
=========
When boiling corn on the cob,
add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the
Corn's' natural
sweetness
=========
Cure for headaches: Take a li me, cut it
in half, and rub it on your
Forehead. The throbbing will go away.

=========
Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into
ice cubes for future Use
in casseroles and sauces.
=========

To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the
area And
you will experience instant relief.
=========
Ants,
ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a chalk

line. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or
wherever ants
tend to march. See for yourself.
=========
Use
air-freshener to clean mirrors. It does a good job and better still,

Leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

Uh what is wrong with me today???

funny-pictures-fake-fish-was-taunting-cat

Hi Gang,

Boy I am having one of those days;  I feel irritable, sluggish, tired, cranky and kind of depressed for no good reason.  I think staying up late last night to watch the season finale of Lost (which was good by the way) explains the tiredness and maybe because the pollen is horrible today and it is grey and sorta rainy out can explain the rest who knows???

I do not have anything exciting at all to say….see blah life sucks then you die.  Ok maybe I should snap out of it I have less than an hour left of work and it is weekend eve after all.  Oh wait I forgot Dave has to travel again next week, this time he is going to Los Angeles!  At least I will get a new T-Shirt to add to my collection.  I hate him being gone all the time, this job of his is turning out to be the pits.  The put a hiring freeze on, a raise/bonus freeze on so they do not have to lay any one off….but they are know working him/and fellow employee’s like dogs.  Since we have come home from vacation in January he has been gone on business almost every other week and sometimes back to back weeks.  Then it stinks because when the weekend comes and he is done traveling he just wants to veg gout because he is so tired and he has no energy to do the stupid fun things we used to do on the weekends.  So I guess I am feeling I work, come home, over and over again with nothing to look forward to…. I know deep in my heart it is not true, I got a good man,  a nice place to live, and we are comfortable (not rich but not hurting for anything either), we get along and enjoy each others company.  I should thank my lucky stars since so many people out there are being devastated by this economy today not to mention other problems others have to face on a day to day basis.

Ok I need to end this pity party and think positively!  We will have a wonderful 10 day vacation in July, going to get some camping in and get back to nature and unplug myself from my computer, phone, iPod and TV.   That is just what I need.

Are you a B*tch??? I am, read on to see what I mean.

I got this in an email and was like hey thats me LOL:

FINALLY -
Someone is bitchy enough to say it like it REALLY is!

BITCHOLOGY

bitc

When I stand up for
myself and my beliefs,
they call me
a
bitch.

When I stand up for
those I love,
they call me a

bitch.

When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts
or do things my own way, they call me a

bitch.

Being a
bitch
means I won't
compromise what's

in my heart.
It means I live my life MY
way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to
tolerate injustice and
speak against it, I am
defined as a

bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for
myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.

It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I 'should' be.

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on me, just try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
You won't succeed.

And if that makes me a
bitch ,so be it.
I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.

I - In
T - Total
C - Control of
H – Herself

T = Talented
C = Charming

Thank's!

Hi Everyone I want to thank you all for your kind comments for Michael. I saved them all and put them on a word doc so he can read them when he gets home. Now I am not sure if anyone noticed but I had to take the video down because the military was not happy with him for doing it and he got reprimanded. I do not see why at all talking about being a bunch of uptight Aholes! Anyhow his family said once he no longer belongs to the United States goverment I can put it back up.

It's chilly and overcast here today it's going to be a cheesy puff couch potato weekend I think. I hope you all have a good one. I am going to watch the Kentucky Derby. Have a good one everyone!

Woo Hoo we made it….it is FRIDAY!  Today I have a smattering of stuff to share today.  First thing I would like to post is one of my oldest girlfriend’s cousin Michael is over in Iraq and his family is hoping he will be home in June, God willing.  Any way he made this funny video (he is the one doing the dancing) and his family wants him to feel like he is a star when he gets home.  All I ask is you watch the video and leave any nice comments I can copy and paste back to his cousin.  It really is funny you need sound on.

Okay onto the next order of business LOL, Swine flu is spreading but can your pet get it?  This is from the ASPCA website:

1. Can My Pet Catch Swine Flu?

Pig

Don't worry, pet parents! The recent, rapid outbreak of the H1N1 virus, previously known as swine flu, appears to present little risk of infecting our furry friends. In the past few weeks, only humans have been affected by the new virus, and it's still unknown how the virus will impact other species.

"Currently there's no data demonstrating any risk of dogs and cats contracting this strain of the virus," says Dr. Louise Murray, Director of Medicine at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Hospital in New York City. "However, owners of pet pigs, as well as farmers, should monitor their animals' health more closely and take steps to limit transmission from humans to pigs and vice versa."

If you do count a pet pig as your animal companion, please consult with your veterinarian about a Type A influenza vaccine, which is available and recommended for all healthy swine.

Dr. Miranda Spindel, Director of ASPCA Veterinary Outreach, adds: "Swine influenza or swine flu is one of the leading causes of respiratory disease in swine throughout the world. Like most influenza A viruses, swine flu generally causes high levels of illness in pigs, but fatalities are uncommon."

For the latest information about the outbreak and your pet's health, please visit the Center for Disease Control (http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu). If you suspect your pet is ill or if he exhibits any sudden changes in behavior, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

Read the ASPCA's official statement on swine flu.

This is some scary stuff one of my friend’s in Fla say’s it has hit her area!  My Dave is freaking out because he is always traveling for business, he was in Texas 2 weeks ago, just got back from AL and going to NJ next week.  He wants to call the doctor to see if he can get the shot just in case. Plane’s are notorious for nasty germ carriers, I always get sick after I fly.

This weekend is suppose to be a mixed bag of low 60’s clouds and rain.  If it is cool tomorrow I may tackle the last large garden bed, I can not wait until everything is planted and done with.   Sunday is suppose to be a wash out so I wont feel bad being a cheesy puff couch potato.

Oh ya one more thought just popped into my head.  I have this little baby squirrel that has been eating out of one of my bird feeders.  I really do not mind I put out enough for all the critters, any how he knows me know so I was sitting on the deck and he just sat there munching looking at me.  He lets me get about a foot away from him before he runs.  I am going to try to put food in my hand and see if he will eat it.  Then you will be reading about how I had to get rabies shots…hee hee  Here is one more Awesome video of a baby squirrel, I already put this on my face book and emailed it so it may be  a repeat for some sorry but it is to dang cute.  I hope you all have a great weekend!  Peace my friends.
